Online: The Next Technological

“Good Morning, John!” Sorry, that is not me, that is your website saying this. Not really your website, more your desktop. Think ibot; think interactive, think in terms of dialogue. No, that is no Star Wars or Star Gate fiction; it is about reality, available already today, at least nearly.

It is time to rethink the website a company actually has. Usually, many websites mirror the reflections of a company: inside-out thinking. Let people and prospects know, who we are, why we are special, why our products are so good. That results in a readers going through many different sites suggesting to take this company because … But, the competitors’ websites do the same, some better, some worse. All in all, many websites are completely passive, no real dialogue, just a subscription to the newsletter and a contact form.

No doubt, there are many companies, who can afford to have such sites, such form of online communication and online marketing. But there are many others, which do not have a high google ranking or are correctly optimised for search engines. These sites have a very sad life. Its producers cannot understand, why there is not more traffic, not much requests coming in. The often-wrong conclusion is that the web is not yet at a standard to fulfil the high expectations. I am sorry to contradict. It is not the web, it is the form, structure and text of a website, which are leading to poor results in traffic.

Many webmasters are offering their services, many of them at very cheap prices. A standard decision is then to take the cheapest, which results often then in a web performance meeting the low price. Web dessign, web navigation, web content requests careful considerations, fine planning and an adequate investment to make it valuable, to achieve results. A fine change in thinking takes place. More and more it is recognised that good web communication is a value becoming an asset and contributes to the chain of values. Why do you think google Adwords are so successful? Since they achieve results. But as the websites, adwords depend on the text to achieve clicks. A German agency has tested that by using various wordings for the same sites. The difference in click rates went up to 40% of higher frequency by just describing the content differently.

Companies, which trust in expertise and knowledge of website creation by real specialists get far better results out of them. Huge are the opportunities to enrich a static website’s content by real interactivity and dialogue between corporations and interested parties. Whether that targets better sales results or better insights for what customers really want, a good platform offers such richness of this media. Not to forget, there is one major investment in the beginning, even considerably low in comparison to a print campaign, but later, by a little learning much can be done by oneself to actualise, to make target specific emailings, or to have online market research. All this does not cover more than standards yet.

This can be highly enriched by innovation. One innovation is the iBot2000 concept, invented and created by a good friend, Tony Dyson. He is not only “the man, who created R2D2” the most famous robot of the Star Wars films, he is a fantastic genius with reference to online marketing, too. A website, which is desktop based, free of phishing and viruses of course, but full of information by an active, learning and speaking virtual robot, which can support requests on specific websites, can even help handicapped people by finding the right content. That idea has such a potential in itself that it might replace the good old search engines one day. And the ibot, which is actually called 2XL, is a friend, who talks to you, answers your questions. By the right content, 2XL could even support your children’s schoolwork or play with them.

That is a revolution, more than an evolution. The bot idea is not new, as it was the fax machine in the early 90s, but when it was invented a good number of years earlier, nobody realised its high value. The same for bots. Now, with Web 2.0, the bot-time has come and with a bot of such high skills the opportunities are even higher. ibot2000 is a forward leading, future oriented application, which requests such low investment that everybody can afford it and it makes the web-idea even more logical.

Counted all that together, those sceptic people, who think that the web is not a good market place, will be taught the contrary. The web’s star just starts to raise, a considerable shift from off- to online can be expected, by networking platforms, facilitating communication, by interactive collaboration among people at various places in the world, by digital workflows in the paperless office of the future and a bot, like 2XL saying now to you: “Have a good and successful day, John.”
