John asks…
Tony Snow He seems different than the others?
Tony Snow seems different than the others in the admistration. He looks down a great deal and was really open and personal on his 1st day with the media. He seems well spoken and more intelligent than the others. It it my imagination. It was a little bit of a suprise.

Not that he just speaks better than the president and Ms Rice at the moment. She is not at her best right now. I am sure she has been a good speaker in the past. I was impressed Mr Snow was honest about his cancer and that he seems bright. I am not talking spinning. Just that he is bright and allert. He is not confused. He appears educated and can speak properly. It is a breath of fresh air since most of the people in the current admin are not good public speakers like elections past. Regan was really good, Kenady, Cinton, Bush Senior, Everyone I can remember has been good. I just noticed it with this admin. Then Tony Snow came in and finally someone could speak. C Rice has forgotten how she is saying ah ah all the time and wearing sunglasses on her head at important meetings. She is probably stressed. I know she can do better. She is super smart. Bush is just down home. I am used to him by now. He sould have Laura do his speaches.
I am not saying he is good or bad, but just that it is so hard to listen to the others. I know bad people can be carismatic. sp? I do not want to mention names but some good and bad ones came up when we brought up the topic in a class some are dead and some are alive. Some you would have to hear in person. Some I can hear it from death in a recording.

Grace answers:
Tony Snow has been a reporter and commentator for many years. He views most situations through the eyes of reporter, and forms opinions based on that. He is also friends with many in the White House press corps which probably adds to the air of ease when dealing with them. He was a Fox news reporter and had a daily radio show prior to being selected as Press Secretary. While I don’t always agree with Mr. Snow in his views I have always found him to be one of the most balanced of all the radio show hosts I have listened to.

Sharon asks…
If MSNBC can report accurately on Ted Kennedy’s condition, why didn’t Fox News report the truth on Tony Snow?
Seems all the other news outlets such as MSNBC report the news regarding people’s health conditions.
Why did fox news cover very little on Tim Russert?
Why did they lie and say Tony Snow was doing fine?
Meanwhile, all the other news outlets seem to reporting what is actually happening. Every day, MSNBC gives an update on Ted Kennedy.
Why couldn’t Fox News do that for their man Tony Snow?

Grace answers:
How often do you watch Fox News? Daily? Weekly?
How do you KNOW what you say is true? You are generalizing, kind sir.

Joseph asks…
What is the annual salary of the White House Press secretary, Tony Snow?

Grace answers:
In 2005 the salary was $161, 000 per year for Scott McClellan. It might have gone up in January 2006 when the Military and Civil Service (Government) employees got their 3% COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment). This would bring his salary to approximately $165,000 per year. Even though Tony Snow is an appointed Civil Service Employee (equal to a Senior Executive Series employee) he would still be entitled to this raise.

Mary asks…
Do you believe Tony Snow’s statement on the Saddam verdict?
“White House spokesman Tony Snow denied suggestions that the timing of the verdict had been orchestrated to coincide with crucial mid-term elections as “preposterous”.

Grace answers:
” Nothing happens in politics by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way ” Franklin D. Roosevelt.
